【摘 要】治安管理是公安工作的重要内容，治安管理的任务是公安工作的宗旨，公安工作应把治安管理放在首要地位。治安管理的任务体现着公安机关维护社会安定，服务人民的要求，一切公安工作都要以治安管理为中心，切实做好建立健全社会主义和谐社会。治安管理就是国家行政管理，治安管理工作也是国家行政工作的重要部分，治安管理部门及其人民警察要做到“有法可依、有法必依、执法必严、违法必究”，预防、治理和打击违法犯罪行为，要做好有效预防和处置治安事件和治安灾害事故，要做好有效预防、处置群体性事件，要本着城乡结合，统筹兼顾的方略，在城市和乡村同时进行，服务于社会，救民于危难，使人民能够安居乐业，使社会能够安定有序发展，使国家能够稳定发展，认真做好建立健全社会主义和谐社会。
